//WHAT
Summer Residencies at Das LOT offer transdisciplinary collectives a unique opportunity to work in a free, well-equipped space dedicated to artistic exploration and experimentation. Designed for groups without their own workspace, these residencies provide time, space, technical resources, and optional mentorship to support innovative artistic research. The program emphasizes the importance of collaboration and cross-disciplinary exchange, culminating in an open presentation of each collective's current "state of art."
//WHY:
Das LOT’s Summer Residencies are rooted in the belief that new and innovative artistic practices require the freedom to explore, experiment, and collaborate without the constraints of traditional expectations. By providing a space specifically for collectives to try new formats and share their artistic research processes, we aim to foster creativity and collective learning. This initiative also aligns with Das LOT’s mission to promote artistic research and critical inquiry, transforming our space into a hub for boundary-pushing ideas and interdisciplinary collaboration.
//HOW:
During the residency, collectives are granted access to Das LOT's facilities, including technical equipment and professional support. The program is free of charge, requiring only membership in the ECHOLOT association for insurance purposes. Residents are encouraged to utilize the space creatively, engaging in complex set designs or innovative methodologies. At the end of the residency, participants share their research process with the public through presentations, workshops, or installations, focusing on collective learning rather than finalized outcomes.
